Private tutors
- Accreditation, or a bachelor's degree, or state certification, plus a completed background check, all submitted with your application.3
- Tutoring is approved in art, English language arts, foreign languages, math, music (including instrument and voice lessons), religion, science (including computer science) and social studies, in person or online. Tutor supply fees count; transportation doesn't.5
How you get paid
- 1Families pay you through ClassWallet's Pay Vendor, and every service needs an invoice. Without one, the family can't pay you.6
- 2Invoices must show your name and address, the student's name, the parent's name, the invoice date, dates of service, the type of service and the total due, or they're rejected. Handwritten invoices aren't accepted.6
- 3Invoices may not mention the CHOOSE Act, the CHOOSE Act Fund or ClassWallet in any form. Use a standard invoice.6
- 4You can bill before or after services and on any cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly), but only for services in the 2026-2027 school year. List each student's charges separately.7
- 5Track payments in ClassWallet's Payment Report: Queued, Initiated, Processing, then Settled when the deposit should be in your bank. It exports to CSV.1

- Computers: under $1,200, one every two school years per student. Technological aids: $500 a year per student (headphones and keyboards $100, mice $40). Microscopes and telescopes $250. 3D printers aren't approved.8
