The short version
We collect as little as we can, never sell it, and you can download or delete your account data yourself at any time from your account page.
Free tools
The receipt checker, invoice builder, payout tracker and application checklist work without an account. What you type is saved only in your browser (local storage) and is never sent to us. If you sign in, your checklist progress and key dates are also saved to your account so they follow you to other devices. Invoices and receipts are never sent to us either way.
Accounts
If you create an account we store your email address, your saved checklist progress and dates, any credentials and expiry dates you add, and your directory listings. We use your email to sign you in (by one-time link, so there's no password to leak), to send reminders you've turned on, and to tell you about decisions on your listing. You can turn reminders off, download everything we store (JSON), or delete your account from your account page. Deleting your account removes all of it immediately.
Directory
Official listings come from each state's published approved-provider list. We show only what the state presents to families (business name, type, city, and where the state publishes them, grades, subjects, website and description), never phone numbers, emails or street addresses. If you claim or add a listing, what you enter is public; your sign-in email is not. To correct or remove a listing, claim it or contact us.
Early access and contact
When you join early access or send a message we store your email, what you tell us and a one-way hash of your IP address (to stop spam). We use it to decide what to build and to reply to you.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Vercel's analytics doesn't use cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell new visits from returning ones; Google's use of that data is covered by its own privacy policy. We don't use either to advertise to you.
Who we share with
Only the services that run the site: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Neon (database), Resend (email) and Google (analytics). We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it with any state program or payment platform.
Children
ChoicePaid is for education providers and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children. Student names you type into the invoice and receipt tools stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
