What Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit funds can pay for

Oklahoma's rules set what counts for each part of the Parental Choice Tax Credit: tuition and fees at an accredited private school, or a short list of homeschool costs up to $1,000 per student a year.

If your service or product isn't on the list, families can't buy it with program funds, however good it is. Check before you apply.

Private school credit1

  • Tuition and fees at an accredited private school
  • Enrollment, registration and application fees
  • Textbook, technology, activity, and testing and assessment fees
  • School uniforms, when paid directly to the school

Homeschool credit2

  • Tuition and fees for nonpublic learning programs, online or in person
  • Academic tutoring by an individual or a private tutoring facility
  • Textbooks, curriculum and other instructional materials
  • Nationally standardized tests, college admission and AP exams, and prep courses for them

Not eligible

  • Private school tuition and fees that the school waives, covers or discounts.1
  • For homeschool: internet access and out-of-state field trips, and costs during a semester or break when the student was enrolled in a public or private school.2

Worth knowing

  • Each homeschool expense can be claimed once, even if it benefits several children, and only in the tax year it was paid.2
