What GATOR funds can pay for

GATOR's eligible expenses come from state rules approved by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). All purchases go through Odyssey.

If your service or product isn't on the list, families can't buy it with program funds, however good it is. Check before you apply.

Schools and courses1

  • Tuition and fees at a participating nonpublic school or nonpublic online program
  • Career and technical school tuition, fees, materials and exams
  • Dual-enrollment tuition at a postsecondary institution
  • Classes and extracurriculars from a participating public school
  • Summer, before- and after-school programs that offer academic support

Services1

  • Tutoring from a tutor or tutoring service
  • Educational services and therapies: occupational, behavioral, physical, speech-language and audiology
  • Parent navigation services (help choosing and enrolling in education services)
  • LDOE-approved assessments, AP, CLEP, IB and college-admission exams

Materials1

  • Curricula, textbooks and instructional materials
  • Computers and devices used mainly for the student's education
  • Educational software
  • School uniforms
