How much does Georgia Promise Scholarship pay?
- Up to $6,500 a year, set by law. The Georgia Education Savings Authority may keep up to 5% for administration.1
Who qualifies for Georgia Promise Scholarship?
- Students who spent two straight semesters in a Georgia public school, or are rising kindergartners, and live in the attendance zone of a school on the state's list of the lowest-performing 25% of public schools. The parent must have lived in Georgia for at least a year. Military families are exempt from the semester and residency rules.2
- Income only matters when there are more applicants than funding. Then families at or below 400% of the federal poverty level are prioritized.2
What can Georgia Promise Scholarship pay for?
- Tuition, fees, required textbooks, curriculum and approved supplemental materials; tutoring by a Georgia-certified educator; occupational, behavioral, physical and speech-language therapies; and up to $500 a year of transportation to a service provider.3
