What Step Up For Students funds can pay for

This is the 2026-27 list for Florida's Unique Abilities scholarship (FES-UA), the most flexible Florida scholarship, as published for families who hold it through Odyssey. Educational Options and Tax Credit scholarships are mainly for private school tuition and fees.

If your service or product isn't on the list, families can't buy it with program funds, however good it is. Check before you apply.

Schools and programs1

  • Tuition or fees for a home education program, an eligible private school or an eligible postsecondary institution
  • A Department-approved private online provider, an approved online course, or Florida Virtual School as a private paying student
  • An approved pre-apprenticeship program
  • Specialized after-school and summer education programs
  • VPK and School Readiness provider programs
  • Classes and services contracted from a public school or school district

Therapies and specialized services1

  • Applied behavior analysis
  • Speech-language pathology, occupational therapy and physical therapy
  • Listening and spoken language specialists
  • Therapeutic horsemanship at a certified center
  • Certified art or music therapists
  • Transition services from job coaches
  • Choice Navigator services

Teaching, materials and tests1

  • A private tutoring program, or part-time tutoring by a certified educator
  • Instructional materials and curriculum
  • Digital devices, peripherals and assistive technology
  • Norm-referenced, AP, industry certification and college-related exams
  • Annual evaluation of progress by a certified teacher
  • Contributions to the Florida Prepaid College or Florida College Savings Program
