How Magoosh Inc. gets paid

Families order and pay through the Odyssey Marketplace. Here's what happens on the provider's side, from TEFA's official rules. ChoicePaid doesn't handle payments.

  • Odyssey pays vendors through Stripe for fulfilled Marketplace orders. Your Stripe account has to be connected to Odyssey before any payment can reach you.2
  • When a family orders, accept the order in the vendor portal. Products ship within 48 business hours; for a service, contact the family within 48 business hours to schedule it.3
  • Payment starts only once the order is fulfilled in the vendor portal: shipped with tracking added for a product, or delivered with its confirmation number entered for a service. After that, Odyssey says the deposit timing depends on Stripe.2

Price caps to know

  • Technology (laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, software, hotspots and similar) is capped at a combined 10% of the student's annual award, counted before sales tax. 3D printers are limited to one a year. Musical instruments are capped at $1,000.4
